Afew weeks ago, Grayson dropped a nap so we are down to one long afternoon nap.
It didn't take long for me to realize that this was going to mean very long mornings--I am now keeping him awake from 8am-1pm.
So, I decided to start "room time" for him. He plays by himself in his room now for an hour!! It has been so much easier than I thought and he loves it! I just plop him down with his toys and he stares at me as if he's waiting for me to leave so that he can begin playing. My favorite part is sneaking up on him at the end to see exactly what he's doing. I've captured it a few times on video, so I thought I'd share.
We've been working on cleaning up. I'm glad to see that he's practicing during playtime!

Neighborhood Golf Tournament
This weekend we had neighborhood golf tournament, which actually consists of people walking from yard to yard--more like a "mini putt- putt" game. At the end, everyone gets together to eat barbeque--so it's alot of fun! Grayson had fun on all the toys that were available for the kids to play on. He especially liked this little Radio Flyer tricycle. He even got to wear his golf outfit for the special occasion!!

5 Years!!
Today we celebrate 5 years of marriage. It has truly been an amazing journey and we are so thankful to the Lord for all that He has done in our lives and for all of our friends and family who have prayed for us, loved us, and encouraged us. We are thankful for all the blessings and all the trials because they have only made us stronger and more dependent on Him.
Happy 5 Years and many more to come!!!

New Shoes and a New Crawl
Grayson recently got some new white sandals for church. Aren't they so sweet? White sandals for little boys are really hard to find!! Thankfully we found these at a local shoe store and I just love them! Thanks, Mimi for buying Grayson some new shoes!
And check out his new crocs!! Grandma bought him these new play shoes! He's already figured out how to pull these off! Thanks, Grandma--these will be perfect this summer!
So instead of walking, Grayson has figured out how to crawl without his knees! Hopefully, he will eventually learn to walk! I haven't seen any other kids walking around like this!
This is one happy boy!! We love you, our little 14 month old!

Visit with Grandma and Playdates
Grandma came for a visit this past week. Grayson loved having her around and showing off all of his new tricks. He's almost walking--he's still very stiff-legged, though. He needs a little more confidence before he takes off yet.
Lydia came over again for the day. He has so much fun playing with her! He got a bad cold this week, too, so that's why he doesn't look too happy in these pics. He wasn't feeling his best.
And then we had some more kiddos over to play (our neighbors). Grayson is getting good experience sharing his mommy and his toys.
And finally...this is what I'm seeing alot of these days. This boy loves to be outside---taking a walk or swinging in his swing. He's almost figured out how to unlatch the screen door by himself!!

A Week with Mimi
After our visit to Clinton, Mimi came back to Marietta with us for the rest of the week. Grayson LOVED having her here and all the attention that she gave him! We headed to the square for lunch one day.
Grayson has an obsession with flowers, so all he wanted to do was hold the flowers.
Until he discovered the fountain...then he wanted to climb up...
and back down--of course, head first.
We are going to be super busy when he starts walking by himself!! He is nonstop already!
Papa came at the end of the week.
Grayson just loves having them around! We wish we lived closer to all of our family!!
Finally...I finished off the weekend celebrating my 2nd Mother's Day. I am so blessed and THANKFUL to be a mommy to this precious baby!

Visiting with the Great-Grands
While we were in Clinton last weekend, Grayson went over to great-Grandmama and Daddymac's house. He loves making scary faces at Daddymac.
He looks so big sitting in this chair!
Grandmama loves singing him songs and bouncing him on her knee. Grayson thinks it's so funny and asks her to do it again and again.
They had a surprise for him when he got to their house-- a pack of markers and a sketch pad. I quickly exchanged the markers for crayons--I think we'll wait a while with the markers!!
Thanks Daddymac and Grandmama for a fun visit!!

Weekend at Mimi and Papa's
This past weekend we headed to Clinton for a few days. It was a very nice, relaxing visit as always. Grayson enjoyed spending some time with Mimi and Papa. We spent alot of time in the backyard just hanging out.
.
We went to visit a nearby farm. Grayson got to see goats, horses, and llamas.
Then we went to the duck pond at Presbyterian College to feed the ducks. Grayson was more interested in the fountain of water shooting up out of the pond.
Grayson climbed Mimi and Papa's stairs all by himself. He was very determined to make it all the way to the top. Then he wanted to go right back down-head first!!
Ready for church!
Grayson loved watching the trains go by outside.
And finally... Lara and Boyd came by for a visit. It was so nice to see them and catch up! Grayson and Boyd will be playing together really soon!
Thanks Mimi and Papa for such a nice weekend away from home!
