6 Months

Grayson is 6 months old now and almost crawling! This has just happened in the last week. He's been sitting up well for a few weeks, but now he's on hands and knees and rocking! We went for his check up today and the doctor said definitely before 9 months he'd be crawling. I'm thinking he may be crawling REALLY soon!!
He weighs 17lbs. 4oz. and is 28 1/2 inches--big boy!!

He decided to eat his bandaids---who needs bandaids?!?

Pretty Crazy!

Last week we experienced some flooding here in Atlanta due to all the rain. It's pretty amazing to think that interstates were shut down and Six Flags was underwater(except for the roller coasters!)!

This is Interstate 575--the exit we take to go to church!

Six Flags

Thankfully, we stayed dry here in our home. We only had about 4 inches of water in our crawlspace--which was nothing compared to the fact that many people lost their entire homes. Our neighbor had 4 feet of water under her house in her cellar. It was a crazy week! We were so blessed to have sunny days this past week so we could dry out a little and get outside.

In the middle of all this, we got to experience Grayson getting his first tooth!! He was a little fussy this week and it didn't help that we couldn't get out much. I've heard that the first tooth is always the worst, so hopefully we've got that behind us.
Here he is--he thought it was so funny when we were playing with his toy!

Making the Most of Rainy Days

It has been raining here in Atlanta for a whole week!! I have never seen so much rain in my whole life!! This week we will continue to have more rain... we can't wait for those sunny and cool fall days that are ahead!
To make the most of being inside, of course we've been watching college football (Go Tigers!!) and we've been doing some much needed cleaning out and organizing. And to reward ourselves for our hard work....
Homemade apple pie -- great for a rainy day!
...and it was yummy!!

And what could be more fun than loving on our little Grayson!

Maybe next week we'll be able to get back outside and enjoy our walks (if we don't float away!).

Take Me Out to the Ball Game...

We were all dressed and ready to go to an Atlanta Braves game last night. Due to the rain, we didn't get to go. Oh well, maybe another day. Grayson was so cute in his Braves outfit.

Sitting Up

Grayson has been getting really good at sitting up all by himself.

We went down to the square for a lunch concert. This was his first experience with grass. We forgot to bring our blanket, but he didn't seem to mind.

This is his first time wearing "real" shoes. He could not stop staring and smiling at them--it was really cute! He was very proud!

Here he is in his pack'n'play. I'm sure this is going to be one of my best friends in the upcoming months. It's so nice to be able to plop him down in there and let him play--he loves it! I'm loving this 6-month stage!!!

We've had a few projects going on around here lately. We've been doing some redecorating in our living room. Chad put up crown molding, we got new drapes for all the windows, we refinished a piece of furniture, I recovered a few pillows, and now Chad is trying to increase our much needed storage. He's been dying to remove these panels on either side of our fireplace to see what is behind them. So, he finally did it this weekend and we were a little disappointed. We thought there would be more space than there actually was. However, there will be enough to at least store our fireplace tools as I don't like having them out (especially when Grayson starts crawling!). So Chad spent the weekend refinishing the inside and making it into a cabinet. I guess he'll attempt the other side next weekend. I'll post pics of the living room soon.
Grayson loves to watch his daddy work and he's getting used to all the "tool" noises that go on in our house quite frequently--hammering, drilling, sawing....
Here he is with his own set of tools--we're getting him started young!

Here's Grayson all ready for church again. He has quite a selection of these little outfits thanks to Mimi. Actually, this one was handed down from a little boy I used to babysit. Mimi reminds me that I won't be able to dress him like this for very long, so enjoy it! I have to admit he does look pretty cute!!
