A visit with Grandma and the GREATS!!!

Last weekend we headed to Covington, Ga to visit with Chad's grandparents and his mom, who was also visiting, for the day.



Grayson LOVED his great-grandmother Kilgore!! He especially liked this new game she made up of throwing your arms up in the air and then throwing your body to the floor!!

He put on a show for everyone! Grandma also got some love and lots of playtime.

It was such a fun visit! We should really do it more often since we're only an hour away!!
Grayson is missing all of his great-grands and grandparents now that we're back home and have no more visitors!! I wish he could see all of them more often!! We are so blessed to have such a loving family on both sides!!

Great Grandmama and Daddymac

Grayson got to spend lots of time with the great-grands while we were in Clinton. Grayson is their only great-grandchild, so he gets lots of love and attention when they're around!!



Since he's walking now, he doesn't slow down to sit in anyone's lap as much as he used to! However, he still enjoyed listening to Grandmama's silly songs that she likes to sing to him!

Mimi made Grayson another outfit. It's kind of hard to see in the picture, but it has smocked ducks across the front. It's so cute! Thanks, Mimi!!

Mimi and Papa's House

Grayson and I had so much fun visiting with Mimi and Papa. They bought him a little pool for the backyard, so each morning he played outside for a few hours while it was still cool.

He loved the water hose and got pretty good at watering the plants (and grass) for Mimi.


One morning we headed out to a state park nearby. Grayson enjoyed wading in the water near a small waterfall with Papa. After a quick swim, we enjoyed a picnic.


Mimi let Grayson pick some flowers.

And Grayson got some much needed bonding time with Uncle Willy. We enjoyed visiting with William and Bonnie one night.
Grayson also got to spend some time with Grandmama and Daddymac--I'll post about that soon.

A Day with Friends

Last week, Grayson and I headed to Anderson, SC for the day to hang out with some of my friends from college. We try to get together at least once a year, so this year was definitely different!!

Our little group of 5 has quickly multiplied over the years, and this year we had 8 little ones!! Despite the craziness, we managed to get in a few conversations, but we're already planning our next getaway without kids or with the hubbies to "babysit"!!

After we left Anderson, Grayson and I headed to Clinton to spend the rest of the week with Mimi and Papa. I'll post pics of that trip soon.

We have a walker!!

Grayson is getting really good at walking! I guess since he waited so late to walk, it just all progressed really quickly. He does more walking now than crawling. So the past week, we've seen quite a few falls. Before the weekend was over he had a big purple bruise on his forehead and today he got his first busted lip. I'm thinking... this is only the beginning!!

He loves walking around the house with one of his favorite toys--a balloon!!

And Poor Daddy--he fell this weekend and broke his foot. He's in a removable cast for about 6 weeks. Hopefully, he will heal quickly!!

A Visit with Ella

Bentley and Ella came to stay with us for a few days this week. We had so much fun just hanging out and catching up! Grayson really loves Ella and they play so well together.


We took them swimming one afternoon, so here they are before their big day.

They truly are good buddies and we miss having our weekly play dates!!

Happy 4th of July!!

We celebrated the 4th of July by walking to the square here in Marietta for the parade. It was Grayson's very first parade and the thing he loved the most was waving his flag and pointing to all the balloons.



By the way, he is a walker now!! He's getting more and more confident each day--it's been so fun to watch him start toddling around on his own!!
