Date Night Kid Swap

We decided to do a kid swap with another couple in the neighborhood so that each of us could get in a much needed date night.
So they enjoyed their date last week, while Lorili came to our house for a visit.
Lorili is 3 weeks younger than Caroline so we were excited to get the girls together.

I LOVE watching little girls play.  They're so cute with their little "babies".

And of course the night would not be complete without a little "roughhousing" with the boys.

Sorry, Lorili, Caroline likes to give hugs.

This week it's OUR turn for a date!

Kiddos

This is how we found Grayson sleeping one night before we went to bed.  He was passed out in his chair.  Since then, I've often found him asleep in his chair for naps too.
Caroline loves some "accessories"...shoes (of course) and something on her arm.
 such a little momma...
She keeps us laughing all the time.

And here's our more studious one...

MOOOO

Of course we celebrated Cow Appreciation Day today.
Grayson was most excited about seeing the cows, while Caroline stuffed her face with fries and chicken.  Seriously, I don't even think she noticed the ginormous cows walking around the store--she was so into her food!
And he did not take his eyes off of them.

I have no pictures to document that Chad and I were dressed as cows but I assure you that we were.

These pictures are a little saddening to me-- my little calves are getting so big!!

CHICAGO

Finally, a post about our trip to Chicago. Chad and I traveled WITHOUT kids to meet up with my brother and sister in law in Chicago.  My oldest brother got married in Michigan City over the weekend but we took advantage of an opportunity to visit a city that we had never been to before.  So we flew down a few days early to have some free time in the city.  It was so. much. fun!  We were able to be on our own schedule, eat meals without distractions (with NO cleanup afterwards!), and we had a great time hanging out with William and Bonnie.  Bonnie did a great job with the details of the trip HERE.

We took a boat tour of the city, ate lots of deep dish pizza (AMAZING!), ate some hotdogs Chicago-style, and did LOTS of laughing!!
After spending 2 days in the city, we drove an hour and a half to Michigan City for the wedding.  There was a 5K planned for the morning of the wedding, so I actually ran almost all of it!  I couldn't believe it because I haven't really run since Grayson was born!  Running along the shoreline was beautiful and it was fun getting to know some of their friends along the way.

Even Daddymac and Grandmama made the trip to be a part of the wedding.

Once again, Bonnie's RECAP has much more detail!  It was a beautiful wedding and my brother and new sis in law could not be happier!!  We are so blessed to have Sarah as an addition to our family!

Oh yeah, and I must not forget to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Chad's parents for coming to stay at our house with our kiddos and dog while we were gone!!

The 4th (Contd)

We decided to watch fireworks from a nearby park, so we waited...
 and waited...
Grayson practiced his photography skills while waiting...
and another practice shot (not too bad for an amateur)...
 and we waited some more.
Grayson was ready to give up, but thankfully he found a friend to play with.
 Finally!
 the show began.
 Happy 4th of July!!
